BD3

Taking our work to the streets.

One of our key partnerships is with Community Works who operate in the neighbouring Undercliffe BD3 area.

We run 3 drop-in sessions per week that allow young people to get together, play team games.

This relaxed way of working encourages the young people who attend to gain important social skills, learn respect for one another and develop a sense of who they are.

One to one appointments can be made with a youth worker where young people can seek advice and information.

We don't just sit inside and wait for the young people to come to us. Every week we go out onto the streets and engage with our users on their territory.

We organise fun trips which broaden our young people's experiences. E.g. Go Karting, days out to the seaside, residentials, cinema trips, BMX and mountain biking, theme parks and loads more!

We have a BD3 youth council that empowers the young people to inform us what young people in the area need and want. The Youth Council is also involved in making a positive impact on global issues with child poverty/trafficking a main topic currently being explored.

Over 50 local young people every week attend our sessions in BD3.

The BD3 youth environment project was nominated in June 2011 for local best garden award, for their amazing effort with the e:merge garden.
