Off site services

Mainstream schooling does not work for every young person for a number of reasons and many are excluded. We believe in these young people's potential and work hard to give them every chance to succeed. These young people include some of the most marginalised in the country. We have our own unique way of working with them to offer a new hope.

Bradford District PRU

This is a strong partnership between e:merge and Bradford District PRU. With up to 16 young people with us full-time, the PRU side of e:merge involves the teaching of students no longer able to go to mainstream school due to emotional and behavioural issues. This work is run in conjunction with Education Bradford and is a tailor made appropriate curriculum. From graffiti art to cupcake decoration, mountain biking to hair and beauty, our students participate in an exciting program alongside more traditional subjects. Giving the young people a fresh opportunity to learn and grow as young adults and looking after their emotional well-being and personal social development.

Bradford Academy

Beginning in September 2009 we have been part of a partnership delivering Bradford Academy's off site centre. The partnership works very well. Using their academic expertise and our youth work experience we run a program from the e:merge building that targets those on the verge of exclusion or are particularly vulnerable. With upto 17 full time learners, ranging from yr 9-11's, we have seen incredible success over the past couple of years with a host of students achieving 5 AtoC GCSE grades from working in this environment.

The young people we work with live in the worst 0.6% in the country on the IMD Deprivation index for Educations skills and training.

I have never achieved anything, I am now set for college with three qualifications. I didn't think that was possible, I am well proud.
